2021 Year in review
The 2021 year was not a typical photography year for me. After being so restricted in our actions during 2020 I had the desire to take advantage of slow time it seemed 2021 was going present to me. I sat Dolly down and we made a plan to fill our calendar FULL of events for her.
If you are new to my world you may not know that my full time job is Office Manager for one of Western Canada’s largest and oldest traditional Agricultural Fairs. I love the high pace and, yes, even the strains of the all consuming “go time”. What I don’t love is that Dolly normally takes a back seat during that time. As soon as the decision was made that there would be no Fair in 2021, I embraced the empty calendar and I actually left my client bookings fairly empty.
That meant a year full of hauling Dolly and Opal to young rider development clinics, pony club events, even a horse show on what would have been the fair weekend! It was great and Dolly deserved the opportunity to experience what she so often misses. We started the first weekend in April and ended in Mid October and we enjoyed every single minute of it. I even made myself leave my camera at home for most of it!
So to be fair to the clients that have not gotten their blog posts yet, here is a taste of Dolly’s year. It was a good one.
