June 2024 Diary
June was a month of milestones for Falcom and me, from his first horse show to tackling water jumps at Regional Rally Camp. He amazed me with his heart and maturity, proving that young horses can rise to the occasion with trust and patience. The month became even sweeter with the arrival of my beautiful niece, Baby Jane—she’s already stolen my heart!

Falcom’s Big June: First Shows, First Jumps, and I become an Auntie!

June was a huge month for Falcom and me—a month of firsts, challenges, and so many proud moments. Bringing a young horse along on these adventures is always a rollercoaster, but Fal showed me just how much heart he has, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how he handled it all.

Fal’s First Horse Show
The month started with Falcom’s very first horse show, and what an introduction it was! Not only was it his first time in a busy show environment, but a driving competition was also happening at the same venue. Talk about sensory overload! Between the carriages, the bustling crowds, and all the excitement in the air, it could’ve been a lot for a baby horse.

But Falcom surprised me. He handled the atmosphere with such maturity, taking everything in stride. Of course, there were moments when his eyes got a little wide (who wouldn’t, with carriages zipping by?), but he stayed focused and worked hard for me. It was such a proud moment seeing how far he’s come already.

Off to Regional Rally Camp
At the end of the month, we packed up and headed to Regional Rally Camp with Pony Club. This was another huge milestone for Fal—it was his first time experiencing so many new things, and he truly stepped up to the challenge.

One of the highlights of camp was his first time on the cross-country course. He got to tackle his first water jump, which is always a big moment for a young horse, and he did it like a pro. It’s such a thrill to feel your horse trust you and take on something completely new with confidence.

Camp also gave him a taste of the full competition experience: a dressage test, show jumping, and everything in between. By the end of the week, Falcom was very, very tired (and let’s be real—I was too!), but he handled it all so well. Spending a week at camp with so much activity was a lot for him, but I’m so proud of how he rose to the occasion.

A Special Stop Along the Way
As if the week couldn’t get any more memorable, my oldest brother and his wife welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world right before we left for Rally Camp! On our way to Beaumont, with Falcom happily riding in the trailer, Mom and I made a quick stop at the hospital to meet her.

Baby Jane is absolutely perfect, and I am already head over heels in love with her. I can’t wait to spoil her rotten, and if I’m being honest, I may have already started looking at ponies for her. After all, it’s never too early to love horses, right?

June was full of love, growth, and so many moments that I’ll cherish forever. Thanks for coming along on this journey with me!
