October 2022 Diary

It really does take a village to get one girl up and running with her lessons when they are done virtually! First, I want to thank Quindy from Foxtail Woods for the use of her arena for my first virtual lesson. I would also like to thank Katie from KC Equestrian for helping set the course Lucy sent and being the holder of the camera so Lucy could see my ride and mom for being my jump crew.

Lucy Olphert Showjumping definitely put Opal and I through our paces, literally. We worked on shortening and lengthening our stride, counting our strides between fences and had a whole lot of fun! I was really nervous to have my first lesson with Lucy, but she was amazing! It was really cool to think while I was riding that here I am in Alberta, Canada and she was coaching me from New Zealand! I am so excited for my year with her and all the things we are going to learn.
