Happy New Year, Friends!
January has definitely been an abnormally cold month, with more snow days than I think we have ever had!
Because of the weather, it has been hard for me to haul Opal to ride. This has been tough on us. I had a few bad days but am thankful for my wonderful coach Tara. She is always so positive, and she has a quiet way of being the best supporter during lessons.
Opal and I had a great time chatting with the Vermilion Voice about my sponsorship with Lucy and our upcoming trip this summer; they even put us on the paper's front page!
January also means it is the start of a brand new year in Pony Club! Our club has grown by a couple of members this year, and I am really excited to welcome them and have them in our stable management lessons!

Toward the end of the month, I had the pleasure of visiting our local Rotary Club and giving a presentation on who I am and what my sponsorship with Lucy is like. Also, how the experiences I am having with Lucy and the things I will learn on the trip can be brought back to our community. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to go back in the fall and update them. I was especially glad I had brushed up on my Stable Management already this month, as some of the questions they asked were tough, and my SM had me more than prepared!
Other things that I enjoyed this month were:
Katie held her first schooling show. It was actually postponed from before Christmas, so it was great fun to go all decked out in our ugly Christmas sweaters!
One of my new friends from the Overbrook crew had a really big and important rugby tournament, so mom and I logged in and watched the game from home. It was so cool to watch her crushing the game!
