A New Chapter: My last ride with Opal to Picking up Fal

Starting out on a new chapter in the equestrian world is exciting and bittersweet.

I was very fortunate to have one of my favourite little people's family reach out to me about Opal. You know things are happening how they are meant to be when everything falls into place perfectly. That happened when it was time for Opal to leave our family.

I have been worried over the summer that when it was time for Opal to leave it would interfere with my C1 testing for pony club. I wanted to finish my year with her and have her for my test. It worked out perfectly that after I was finished riding my test, her new family met me at the test location and took her home from there! It made me so happy that we could have that last day of Pony Club together!

Retiring Opal:

Getting a new horse is challenging for any equestrian. Opal had been my steady companion through countless lessons, competitions, and adventures. As we achieved the C1 Pony Club level, I knew it was time to let her enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Opal's new home was carefully chosen, ensuring she would spend her days free from the pressures of constant competition training. Knowing she would thrive in this new chapter brought a sense of fulfillment and reassurance. It is also exciting to know she is with her Pony Club stall mate, Starlight! I know they will have so much fun eating grass and attending Pony Club rallies!

Welcoming Fal:

Even though I will miss Opal, I am excited to welcome my new horse, Falcom!

Fal is only three years old, and I know I have a big learning curve ahead of me.

Moving from Opal to embracing the journey with Fal has been a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences. From the structured world of competition training to the freedom of exploration and growth, this new chapter will be lots of learning. As Fal and I start our journey, we focus on building a partnership built on trust and communication.
