Alberta Equestrian Federation Award

I have been keeping a secret for the past couple of months. Back in January, I received a very exciting email from our Provincial Association letting me know that I had won the 2023 Sportsmanship Excellence Award!

Of course, I asked my barn bestie to travel to Calgary for the Awards Gala, and we had a great weekend!

It did start off a little rocky when typical Alberta weather had my mom telling us that we making a change to our plans and leaving late Friday night to beat the storm she was sure would have kept us home the following day. I think she made the right call because we started driving into it around 11 pm that night. I was really happy when we pulled off the highway and checked into our hotel for the night. Of course, it is the peak of hockey playoff season, and Layla and I have laughed at the number of moms in the elevator who ask us what team we play for.

I can't thank the Alberta Equestrian Federation, the sponsors and, of course, the amazing and kind individuals that have nominated me for this award. I am very humbled!
