Are You on Clubhouse?

What is it?

There is a new drop-in voice audio app that is gaining in popularity right now, and as a social media app, if you are about networking at all, it may become your new go-to. (Sorry Android users, it is iPhone only right now) It is also an invite-only user group at the moment to keep the numbers limited while in beta. There are plans to grow the platform, so don’t feel excluded if you are not there yet; it is coming.

Once you are accepted, there is a place for you to have a bio and a link to your Twitter or Instagram and that is it. There is no app messaging so if you don’t connect with someone outside of the app while you are in a room together they may be lost to you forever.

Getting Invited In

I was fortunate enough to receive an invite back in January, and it has changed my world. In my first few days, I found myself checking in here and there, trying to figure it out. I dropped into a room that 5 or 6 equestrians were having a relaxed chat, and from that point on, I had a group of amazing new friends, and since that day, every day has brought one or more of them into my day.

The most amazing thing has happened from those first few contacts I made, my circle is growing. Photographers, Social Media Experts, Equestrians that are riders, trainers, business owners, jockeys, and so much more!

I love it so much that I keep walking around the house exclaiming to the kids, ” I love it,” in the voice of the tik tok voice from the “couldn’t wear it” snippets.

Getting access to the discussions

What is so remarkable about Clubhouse is that I can click on any room of interest to me and listen. In the last two weeks, I have heard photographers give business advice, gardeners, trainers I have followed on social media from all over the world, and so much more…all while I was making supper, folding laundry, driving to work and even on the treadmill. “I love it.”
