If you have ever wondered what an influencer is, this book will answer probably every question you may have about being a social media influencer, the steps you need to take to be one, how to build your brand and create a website. Written by Brittany Hennessy— Senior Director of Influencer Strategy and co-founder of Carbon August. She is responsible for casting celebrities and influencers. An influencer herself, she has worked with companies such as Bacardi, Popchips, Svedka, and the Gap. The book starts by explaining what influencers are and how they are not only celebrities but also non-celebrities. Her descriptions of the types of influencers had me taken back by the simplicity and the options. I think the most appealing thing to learn was the size of the following some influencers have. The book is broken down into different parts and then into even more specific chapters. It covers every aspect of creating your influencer presence, like building a community, your brand, monetizing your influence and planning for the future. There is nothing that is not covered in this book. This book was captivating. I picked it up to start reading and found myself not wanting to put it down. It is well written with many interesting tidbits of information. Some sections and sidebars about real-life stories and what not to do had me genuinely laughing.
