Countryside Wedding in Rural Alberta
Getting to be a part of Ryan and Meg’s day has been a highlight of my year. I have said it before but for those of you who don’t know our history, Meg was introduced to me by my brother. Meg was one of his film and media students and when I was in need of a second shooter he suggested her. Thus began the start of the Nicole and Meg roadshow. We have put on countless miles over the four years since then. Meg became more than a second shooter, she became a part of our family. We laughed and laughed. Ugly crying was banned. Any Starbucks beverage was a meal and snacks were always in one of our bags. Weddings were rated not by the details of the day but by the most important part of the day, the reception meal. Any wedding not including perogies and a kiiller desert found us disappointed.
Ryan soon became more than just the fella in Meg’s life and I waitied for the day when she would tell me they were engaged. When it came I couldn’t wait for our next day together so I could hear all about the proposal. Ugly crying may have been banned but when you are so happy, well sometimes it just can’t be helped.
Seeing all of Meg’s dreams come true on the day of the wedding was amazing. It was perfect. When I was choosing which photos I wanted to share I had to cull them numerous times. I have so many favourites! There may be an oversharing of Holsteins but really how often does one get to take photos of one of her favourite friends on her wedding day, at their family farm!
Congratulations Meg and Ryan! Love you to the moon and back!
Before I close this post, I have to add that what made the day even better was getting to hang out with Kim from Narra Studios! If you haven”t seen the wedding video Kim made, you need to go and see it HERE.
