2019 came to a close for us very quietly. We had fondue with friends and after the kids and I crawled up on the couch, never even noticing that 2019 had passed without us welcoming 2020 in. Looking back on 2019 feels like having coffee with an old friend. So many wonderful memories were made and plans laid out for even more to come in 2020. Look back with me in this year in review post.
A few fun facts…
- I delivered 7,777 photos to clients this year.
- 5,768 km were put on my truck driving to sessions
- I had the honour of being a judge for the Alberta Association of Ag Societies marketing competion.
- I was once again priveleged to have my images published and make magaizine covers.
- 2020 sessions are 85% booked!
I started the year off with the annual Shoot and Share photography contest for photographers. Here are my highest results. I am humbled to say the least.
The photo of Richard placed 13th out of 4076 images in The Groom category.
Dolly and Zip, while settling in 25th place, the Pets/Animals category had 24,540 photos submitted!
If you were a Shoot & Share addict in 2019 and voted for any of my images, thank you!
I realized as I was looking through my 2019 file this morning that so many times I have said I am not a family photographer but the littles and families that were in front of my camera this year seemed more than normal. I still make the disclaimer that I do not book family sessions but here is a quick peek at the friends I shared moments with this past year.
I also held Christmas Mini’s on the Farm and found that as I was gearing down to take some time off with my family that it brought me great joy to have one last weekend of holding my camera up for clients. I can happily say that Christmas Mini’s will be back in 2020!
There were of course moments spent taking commercial images and magazine photos that brought days of travel, giving the kids and I an excuse to head south a couple of times, visits with friends and a little modelling for Logan and Dolly.
As Dolly has gotten older and more involved in her riding activities, I have promised her more weekends with mom. This has meant drastically stepping back from weddings and engagements. If you were in-front of my camera for 2019, you were special to me.
There were those moments when my kids or our quiet moments on the farm caught me with my camera in hand. These are some of my most cherished. I love these kids, their critters and the kid that lives away better find himself in my sights in 2020!
Sam running for Miss Universe Canada 2019 allowed us a long overdue catch up and some pageant application photos for her to use.
Some very beautiful Class of 2019 ladies have given me some of my favourite grad photos to date!
And last but not least are the ponies and their people. My heart lies here with these images.
Thank you for a wonderful year! I am looking forward to 2020 and the images I will be blessed to take.
