As an equine photographer, I keep a well-loved bag in my truck at all times. The habit of taking a shoot bag packed after an unfortunate incident I had years ago where I took a misstep and landed in the middle of a mud puddle. ( it’s okay to laugh at me, I do it all the time ) Let me tell you, shooting a 10-hour wedding with a wet bottom would have been terrible. Thankfully my second shooter had her overnight bag in the truck!
It is not uncommon for Dolly and I to travel together. She is often my “ears up” and I have to include extra items for her in my shoot bag as well.
Since most of my sessions involve travel my shoot bag gets put in my truck in early April and usually finds it way out when the weather starts to freeze overnight.
The bag, while primarily is for me, does come in handy for clients as well. I have pulled a top out when a client got soaked with horse slobber, used wipes at almost every session, and even used teething ointment on a bee sting.
So what is in this bag?
- black halter and rope
- bottled water
- granola bars and fruit snacks
- first aid items
- lint roller
- fly spray for horse + rider
- static guard
- hair spray
- elastics and bobby pins
- oil absorbing sheets
- double sided tape
- tide to go stick
- tweezers
- baby wipes
- balck tank top
- black tights
- handwarmers
- overnight items for both Dolly and I
