Graduation Photos From Start to Finish

You are graduating this year and chances are if your graduation day involves a dress, it was picked out months ago. You have most likely booked your photographer as well.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say if you are reading this, then you have booked with me; if you haven’t -you should!

Regardless of who your photographer is, I’m going to go through the entire process of booking a graduation session with me.

Business First

Booking a session is kind of like having a mullet-business in the front-party in the back. There are things we need to deal with before we can have fun!

After you have decided to book your session, you will be given access to a private website made just for Nicole Marie Photography Co clients. It’s super great because all the information is available to you no matter the time or the place! There is oodles of goodness loaded on pages of any content you could want before your session. I won’t share too much about it, though, because it is saved for clients.

There are steps involved in booking and this is what you can expect.

  • Contract: This is a must for both your protection and mine. Having a contract makes muddy water clear so we both know what is expected and to be delivered.
  • Questionnaire: You can get as detailed as you want or only answer what is needed to know on the questionnaire. How you answer is up to you, but answering as detailed as possible only helps me make your session personable. It is kind of like buying a one size fits all or a custom-made-to-fit blouse. The one size fits all most likely won’t be flattering. Both fit, but one is better.

Location and Styling

This is the part where you get to showcase your personality and make it shine!

Choosing your location is a great way to make your photo session all about you. Clients of Nicole Marie Photography Co receive a location guide and a styling guide on the private website. Both the location and the styling you choose for your graduation photos should be an extension of your personality. If you have never played Polo and think the sport shouldn’t exist, you most likely won’t want to travel to a Polo Field for your session.

Getting Prepared and Ready for Your Session

One to two weeks before your session, I will reach out to you to finalize any details that need to be completed. I will ask to see your dress/suit if you haven’t shared that with me already. Also, you can expect me to send a reminder regarding session location. Being super picky about this one as I have had a pin dropped in the wrong location; try to take me 45 minutes in the wrong direction!

During Your Graduation Session

If you are worrying about being in front of the camera you don’t need to! You will have fun during your session. We will take a few minutes to go over some posing tips and answer any questions you might have. From there we will transition, taking our time to make sure you feel great about being in front of the camera. We will have fun and visit the whole time. Your session will be over before you know it!

What Happens Next?

The time between your session and your print delivery can seem a little long. I’ll be emailing your gallery link to you within two weeks of your session. You can download your images from your gallery and order any prints that may not be included in your package.

Ordering

You have received your gallery and are excited to order prints of your favourite images. Ordering from your gallery is easy and seamless for you. As part of the private client website, you will already have had a chance to view products and packages ahead of time. Your photos are yours to print anywhere you like; however, if you choose to order prints through another printer, I cannot guarantee those prints’ quality. The gallery prints you place through your personal gallery with Nicole Marie Photography Co are printed at a Professional Photography Print Lab here in Canada so you can know ahead of time the colour will be correct and the quality exceptional!

Hey there, I'm Nicole

I live on the prairies, where my dreams have merged with the view. It is quiet from the noises of suburbia yet loud with the noises of horses, sheep and chickens. Once in a while, I leave to wander in the streets, but always a part of my heart is left here on the hill.
